Nutrition

Hippocrates the 'Father of Modern Medicine' famously said "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food". This is one of the key principles of nutritional therapy. Through an in-depth review of the client's needs nutritional therapy uses an evidence-based approach to help maximise health using personalised nutrition and lifestyle changes.

Nutritional therapy is a holistic approach that seeks to find the why rather than just looking at symptoms in isolation. A detailed review of the client's history and current health helps to identify areas in the body requiring support and allows individually tailored plans to be put in place to address this.

Using food, and occasionally supplements and lifestyle changes we work towards achieving optimum health while also providing education to help empower you to make better choices going forward.

What conditions can benefit from nutritional therapy?

  • Digestive disorders (e.g. IBS, constipation, diarrhoea, reflux, allergies/intolerances)
  • Mental health (e.g. stress, anxiety, low mood, poor concentration, fatigue)
  • Hormone imbalance (e.g. PMS, under-active thyroid, infertility, menopause symptoms)
  • Autoimmune conditions (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, coeliac disease, SLE, Crohn's disease)
  • Cardiovascular health (e.g. high blood pressure, high cholesterol)
  • Skin conditions (e.g. acne, eczema, psoriasis)
  • Weight management (e.g. weight loss, metabolic syndrome/diabetes, blood sugar balance)
  • Sports performance (e.g. energy, recovery times)
Not only can nutrition help these conditions but it can also act as a preventative measure against them!
